2009 BALLOON Release

Glasgow and Ayrshire SANDS will be holding an annual balloon release in memory of all babies who died before, around or shortly after birth. The number of balloons released will correspond with the number of babies who died in Scotland last year, figures based on data from the Registrar General Scotland.

The day will start around 11.00am and the balloons will be released around 12 noon. There will be an opportunity to have a personal message attached to a balloon. With face paining, a balloon man creating figures along information on SANDs. After the event tea/coffee will be served in the Georgic across from the Square, and goodie bags will be provided for children.

Anyone who wishes a personal message to be added in advance of the day should contact Glasgow or Ayrshire SANDS by phone or e mail, although messages can be written on the day, but it saves time a little time if we have them prior to the day. If you cannot make the day but would like a message attached to a balloon please contact us, in advance of the day and we will ensure your message is added.
