In the UK, 17 babies a day are stillborn or die in the first 4 weeks of life. SANDS is working to improve care of babies and parents:
* during pregnancy
* when a problem is recognised
* when a baby has died
Above all we want to ensure that as few babies as possible die and that parents are spared the pain and grief which follows a baby’s death.
Glasgow SANDS provides literature free of charge to the five hospitals covered by Glasgow SANDS - Princess Royal, Queen Mothers & Yorkhill, Southern General, Wishaw and Stirling, we are happy to provide literature to Paisley although we do not have a support meetings held there.

Glasgow SANDS are also available to attend health committees, workshops and training events for health professionals and other organisations.
We are often asked by profressionals to provide guidance on how they can best support parents during this diffucult time, whilst remaining professional. To request SANDS attendance at any event, please email the committee.
